Founded in 1991, The American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists - ARMRIT - is the first MRI Registry certifying body that required specific MRI education, in-depth clinical training, and hands-on experience.

REMM was produced by the US Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response. Its goal is to guide healthcare providers, primarily physicians, about clinical diagnosis and treatment of radiation injury during radiological and nuclear emergencies. Also to guide the wider healthcare community, including trainers, about issues related to planning for and responding to radiation mass casualty incidents
