Muslim Journeys

Five book covers from Muslim Journeys collection

Muslim Journeys is a collaboration of the American Library Association, the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Ali Vural Ak Center for Global Islamic Studies at George Mason University. The purpose:

To present to the American public resources "representing diverse perspectives on the people, places, histories, beliefs, practices, and cultures of Muslims in the United States and around the world."

Hog Hammock Public Library on Sapelo Island, Georgia, is a recipient of the Bridging Cultures "Muslim Journeys" Bookshelf, the cornerstone of the initiative. The award included books, films and a one-year subscription to Oxford Islamic Studies Online. The library hosted programs focusing on the story of Bilali Muhammad, and created a blog to provide the public with additional resources and links to more information on "Muslim Journeys."
