Blackboard & Distance Education Guide

Blackboard is a learning environment where students submit class assignments, take tests, participate in group discussions, read announcements, and more. Instructors also use Blackboard to provide information to students and to track attendance and record grades.

Whether you're a student or an instructor, learning how to use Blackboard is vital to your success at CPTC.

Please take the time to read the CPTC Handbook including sections "Distance Education- Online Classes" and "Student Code of Behavior" that includes the Code of Conduct/Discipline and Acceptable Computer and Internet Usage procedures. It is important to note that these procedures apply in both Distance Education and traditional settings. 

Things that would not be allowed in person are still not appropriate online. Others in your class may be reading what you post along with your instructor. Consider how the reader may interpret or have a responsibility to act on the information that you are sharing in course discussions (such as mandated reporters). We are here to learn.
