GALILEO is an online library of databases that provides authoritative, information that isn't available through free search engines. Here you have access to over 100 databases that include journal articles, eBooks, photographs, maps and charts, directories, streaming video, dictionaries, and more.
Use the steps below to search GALILEO using the Bento Search Tool.
The Bento Search is a tool that searches multiple information resources within GALILEO in one search.
1. Select the Bento Search Tool on the GALILEO homepage. Be sure to check the box for "Full Text Only" to make sure you have full access to any search results. Once you have typed in your search term, click Search.
2. The Bento Search provides results from several different informational sources. You can see those across the top of the page. You can browser the various results by scrolling down the page or by click on one of the various information sources across the top.
3. If you would like to do a more in-depth search of the results for an information source, click on the title of that source. This example shows the results from clicking on Scholarly Articles.
Once you click on the informational source, you will see a list of articles which include a short description and a link to the PDF Full Text. You also have access to a limiter menu, which you can use to help limit or refine your results. Some of the limiters are publication date, publication, subject, language, geography, database, and more.
4. After setting your appropriate limiters and have finding articles that might be useful in your research, click on the blue, hyperlinked title of the article. You will be taken to a page with more in-depth information about the article including an abstract and publication information. Click on Access Options and then PDF to be taken to the article.
5. The full text of the article is displayed in the middle of the page, with a tools menu displayed across the top right. This menu includes:
