Database Video Spotlight: Home

GALILEO is an online library of databases that provides authoritative, information that isn't available through free search engines. Here you have access to over 100 databases that include journal articles, eBooks, photographs, maps and charts, directories, streaming video, dictionaries, and more.

The videos presented here show how to use the various search options available within GALILEO, how to use the Discover search tool, and spotlight some of the most popular databases available to CPTC students, faculty, and staff. The spotlight videos provide you with information about the databases, as well as how to use them.

Spotlighted databases include Films on Demand, Opposing Viewpoints in Context, and Occupational Outlook Handbook

Access GALILEO databases through Blackboard or use the GALILEO password if you are not on a CPTC campus. (Public libraries and other institutions have different database collections.) A new password is emailed to CPTC students, faculty and staff each semester. Ask for it at the library, or via email with your CPTC account.
