COMP 1000: Introduction to Computers: Introduction

COMP 1000 introduces the fundamental concepts, terminology, and operations necessary to use computers. Emphasis is placed on basic functions and familiarity with computer use. Topics include an introduction to computer terminology, the Windows environment, Internet an d email, word processing software, spreadsheet software, database software, and presentation software.

LearningExpress Library is a GALILEO database, and it has several software tutorials. 

Tutorials in the site's Computer Skills Center cover Computer Basics, Internet Basics and popular software tools such ase:

Go to LearningExpress Library in GALILEO and create an account. (If you are off campus, you may need the GALILEO password. Ask for it in person at your CPTC library, or via email using your CPTC account.) Once you create your account in LearningExpress, you will use your login each time you revisit the Computer Skills Center. LearningExpress will save or continue any of the tutorials you have begun.
